For the next few Day I will be highlighting different Veteran Artists showing there work at the Radical Vulnerability Exhibit at the National Veterans Art Museum. It features work by veterans of Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Global War on Terror that explore their relationship to personal, political, and social vulnerabilities during a time of war.
Christopher Arendt is a Michigan Army National Guard Veteran who was deployed to Guantanamo Bay Cuba in 2004. Sense his deployment Chris has been creating work focused on exploring the concepts of mans relationship with god, guilt, forgiveness, time, and detention.
My work is an interrogation into my relationship with my memories of the things I have seen. My work is the publication of these interrogation that leaves myself, the memories or the things I have seen, vulnerable to judgement and forgiveness. – Chris
